I was able to replicate my husbands favorite coney sauce. This was pretty awesome because he hasn’t been able to find anything close to the taste he kept craving – which is about two hours away.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb ground beef, browned
- 1/2c onion, chopped
- 1-1/2 c ketchup
- 1/4c sugar
- 1/4c vinegar
- 1/4c prepared mustard
- 1/2 ts celery powder
- 1ts Worcestershire sauce
- 3/4ts salt
- Hot dogs and buns
- Additional chopped onion, shredded cheese, and whatever else you might like to top your dogs with.
Method:
- Combine all and let simmer about 2o minutes, longer is fine too. You could throw all of this in the crockpot as well. Spoon it over a hot dog in a bun. Top with shredded cheddar and/or chopped onion.
