Guacamole

I love a good chunky guacamole any day (hold the jalapenos).    However, my husband has an aversion to tomatoes, and one of my daughters hates anything onion, unless it’s powder.    So we have found a happy medium.  Avocados are healthy and I want my kids to enjoy guacamole so I don’t fight the onion issue.  Here is how we make do (psst., I sometimes make my own chunky guac with fresh onions and garlic from the garden and keep it to myself and any other kids who are feeling adventurous, lol.  I just add the tomatoes and onions to taste. When it looks like there are enough, I stop adding them).

You can garnish with fresh minced cilantro, if you have any.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large avocados, flesh removed and mashed
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1.5-2tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

Method:

  1. Mash all the ingredients together.  Taste as you go.  when it’s just right, place it in the fridge, covered to allow the flavors to mingle.  I often eat it soon after making it, but it’s great if you make it a bit ahead.

  • The subsequent time I learn a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as a lot as this one. I imply, I know it was my option to learn, but I actually thought youd have one thing fascinating to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you might repair in the event you werent too busy in search of attention.
